(Shreveport, LA)  – The defending ABA National Champion Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks return to Hirsch Memorial Coliseum after a week on the road this Saturday night, November 22, with a game against the North Texas Fresh and a pair of very special promotions for fans.

The Mavericks are pleased to partner with the Salvation Army Angel Tree Project this year. The Angel Tree Project matches donors with qualified families who are unable to provide gifts and clothing to their children during the holidays. For many donors, the personal connection to a child in the community has become a special tradition. Salvation Army has helped bring the magic of Christmas to more than 5,000 children last year alone.

Bring a toy for donation Saturday and receive free admission to see the Mavericks in action. You may also pick an angel off of our tree in Hirsch Memorial Coliseum and the Salvation Army will match you up with a family in need. The Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks have been very involved as a community partner with the Angel Tree Project, and we would love our fans to be as involved as we are in making Christmas dreams come true for those less fortunate.

For more information on the Angel Tree Project, please visit the Salvation Army website at

Also Saturday, the Mavericks want to recognize those that have served in our Armed Forces with Veterans Appreciation Night. In honor of these brave men and women who have served the United States of America, the Mavericks will take $3 off General Admission tickets and $10 off courtside seating for veterans at Saturday’s contest.

In other Mavs-related news, the ABA has announced that the National Championship Finals will be returning to Hirsch Memorial Coliseum for the second year in a row in 2015.  ABA Chief Executive Officer Ron Tilley sited the continued success and stability of the Mavericks organization as a key factor in the league’s decision to return the finals to Shreveport.

Tip-off for Saturday’s game is 7 p.m. The Mavericks will host the Jackson Showboats on Sunday afternoon, November 23, at Hirsch Memorial Coliseum, with game time slated for 4 p.m. Tickets for these and all 2014-15 Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks games are on sale now at or at the Hirsch Memorial Coliseum ticket office.

The Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks and KSLA News 12 have partnered to give you the latest Mavs news and fun giveaways right on your cell phone. Just text “Mavericks” to 81212 to get involved.
