GAME COMMENTS:

The #1 ranked Shreveport/Bossier Mavericks took on one of the top teams in the UBL, the DFW Stars. Coming into the game the Stars have only lost 2 games all season and played a tough game vs the Mavericks back in February.

The Stars came in determined to be the first team to defeat Shreveport/Bossier this season. The took an early 13-9 lead. After a Mavs time-out back to back baskets by Mike Crain tied the game at 13 and from there the Mavs went on a 16-2 run to finish out the 1st quarter with a 23-15 lead.

In the 2nd period the Mavericks Defense was outstanding as they held the Stars to only 14 points, and allowed DFW 29 points in the entire 1st half of play. The Mavericks took a 50-29 lead into the locker-room at halftime.

In the 3rd quarter Jon Rogers started to take over the game inside and Ed Horton did the same from the perimeter. Tony Hooper also started to attack the basket and exert his will on the Stars. The Mavericks took a 25 point lead into the last period of play.

In the last quarter a tough physical game became a blowout with the Mavs depth taking over the game, as the Mavericks dominated and finished the game strong to earn their 29th victory on the season!

GAME SUPERLATIVES:

The Mavs Defensive effort was again outstanding as they held the DFW Stars to 33% shooting from the field. The Mavericks also pulled down 61 rebounds (Brandon Davis led the way with 13 rebounds). The Mavs also blocked 9 shots (Davis led with 3 rejections).

RECORD:

The Mavericks move to 29-0 on the season (The Mavericks have now won 55 consecutive games and have 61 straight Wins at Home). The Mavericks have a 118-7 record in the ABA in 4 seasons.

GAME NOTES:

Jon Rogers continues his dominate play with a 20 point and 8 rebound performance. Rogers also blocked 2 shots in the game.
