GAME COMMENTS:

The Central Texas Rhythm came out smoking from the perimeter as Pat Perkins and Demetrius Smith set the tone early with long 3 point baskets. The Mavericks led by Ed Horton and Mike Crain matched the Rhythm shooters shot for shot early on. The Mavs led a close game after one period of play 37-33.

The 2nd quarter was a different story as the Mavericks bench depth and defensive pressure took over the game. The Rhythm only scored 12 points in the quarter as the Mavs scored 38 points and took a 75-45 lead into the locker-room at half-time.

The Mavs maintained control throughout the entire 2nd half and led by 36 points heading into the final period of play.

Shreveport/Bossier cleared its bench with 10 minutes to play and cruised in the final minutes to take its 26th victory of the season.

GAME SUPERLATIVES:

The Mavs again had balanced scoring with 8 players scoring double figures (Ed Horton led the way with 26 points). Alex Sanders recorded another Double/Double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. The Mavericks shot .913 from the free-throw line for the game (21 of 23). The Mavericks pulled 54 rebounds and dished out 32 assist (Trey Moore had a season high 11 assist for the game).

RECORD:

The Mavericks move to 26-0 on the season (the Mavs have now tied their single season record for most consecutive wins in a single season - 26 - they set in the 2010-11 season).

GAME NOTES:

The Mavericks have now won a record 52 straight games (58 straight wins at home)! This is the longest Pro Basketball Winning Streak in Professional Basketball History! The Mavericks hold a 115-7 record in the ABA over 4 seasons.
