Mavesricks Defeat Vandals

GAME COMMENTS: The Shreveport/Bossier Mavericks won a hard fought, tough, and physical professional basketball game Saturday afternoon at the Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco, TX.

The Mavericks and Vandals met in the first game of a doubleheader day shared with the NBA D League's Texas Legends, who took on the Rio Grande Vipers in the second game.

The Mavs led by as many as 10 points in the first half. But the Vandals fought back and surged ahead to take a 59-50 lead into the locker-room at half-time!

North Dallas extended the lead to 17 points at the 8:33 mark of the 3rd quarter. The Mavericks then put on full-court pressure and used an aggressive zone defense to turn the momentum and to lead 84-83 after 3 periods.

Shreveport/Bossier turned defensive pressure into quick offense and stretched the lead to 15 points with 2 minutes to play.

Veteran Trey Moore scored 29 of his game high 33 points to lead the Mavs to the comeback win!

GAME SUPERLATIVES: The Mavericks fought back from being down by 17 points in the 3rd Quarter by utilizing full-court zone pressure and an aggressive half-court zone defense!

RECORD: Mavericks move to 15-0 on the season. (15 straight wins is the best start to a season in Mavericks History)

GAME NOTES: The Mavericks have now won a record 41st straight game! This is the longest Pro Basketball Winning Streak in Professional Basketball History! The Mavericks hold a 103-7 record in the ABA.

SCHEDULE: The Mavericks will host the Mobile Bay Tornadoes next Saturday at Bossier Parish Community College. All proceeds from the game go to the BPCC Athletic Department.
