GO MAVERICKS!!!

Shreveport-Bossier, LA- The Shreveport Mavericks can now officially call the historic Hirsch Coliseum home, with the year-long agreement finalized. The venue has a lot of historical significance for this area of the state and has been relegated to a dormant facility for most of the year.

The owner of the SB Mavs, Jerry Nelson, is bringing more than championship quality basketball to the building but his other ventures that include Professional Bull Riding, Rodeo, monster truck rallies and concerts. There are two non-basketball events that are already booked for the Hirsch. This agreement presents the opportunity to bring more than one form of family entertainment to the Shreveport-Bossier area.
The Hirsch will begin renovations to give the coliseum a refurbishing very soon.

Pictures of the progress will be posted on the Mavericks website. The home opener will coincide with the Tip-Off Classic, a weekend tournament involving eight teams. With 10 games slated to be played in three days the introduction of the ABA Mavericks to the area will be an event. The renovations to the Hirsch are expected to take 6 weeks to complete.
