(Owensboro, KY) – Your Kentucky Mavericks are hosting their 1st Annual Battle of the Schools night when they take on rivals Danville Riverhawks. The game at the Owensboro Sportscenter on Sunday, March 20th. Tip off is scheduled for 4 pm CST.

The Mavericks are coming off of a very competitive game with the Grand Rapids Cyclones. The game was back and forth for the first three quarters before PJ Couisnard took over, hitting two threes and a number of layups and free-throws to put the Cyclones away. Kentucky won 116-92 in a game that was much more competitive than the score shows.

The Riverhawks have played the Mavericks three times already this season. Kentucky is first in the PBL at 14-1 and undefeated in the Midwest division. Anthony “The Jet” Jackson is on a 3 game tear, scoring 28, 27, and 22. Big man Brandon Davis is also coming off his best game of the season. He dominated on both ends of the court scoring 25 points and recording a season high 18 rebounds vs the Grand Rapids Cyclones.

The Battle of the Schools is the theme for the Sunday afternoon game. We have invited each local high school to bring as many of their students as possible to pack the house. The schools are competing in an attendance competition. The school that has the most students in attendance will receive donation from the Kentucky Mavericks Student tickets are $6 and can be bought at mavup.com or at the Owensboro Box Office from 1 pm to game time.

With the regular season coming close post-season tickets and sponsorships will be available sometime next week.
