(Owensboro, Ky) – In a very physical and excited home game, Your Kentucky Mavericks beat the Indianapolis Diesels 96-84 to extend their winning steaks to 103 straight games and 99 straight home wins.

The Mavericks came out with a purpose, scoring all their points from the paint and the free throw line to take an early 23-18 lead.

Indianapolis made a push, tying the game early in the second quarter before the Mavericks made a late quarter run to take the solid ten point lead for a 44-34 lead. The 44 points is a season low for Kentucky this season.

The third quarter was a tale of streaks. The Mavericks opened an 18 point lead before the Diesels cut it back down to a 10 point lead, to find themselves trailing 70-60.

The fourth quarter belonged to the Mavericks, jumping out to a quick 9-0 run and they ever looked back. The head coach of the Diesels received a technical foul that helped give the Mavericks a 20 point lead, their biggest of the game.

Mavericks Coach Steve Tucker spoke about the tough win, “It was a war down there, but we played really well. These are the kind of games that make us better.”

The leading scorer, Anthony “The Jet” Jackson was the leading scorer with 29 points. Cordarius Johnson chipped in with 16 points and Gerard Devaughn helped with 14 points and 7 rebounds.

The Mavericks are back in action on Sunday, March 6 when they travel to Rochester, New York to take on the Razorsharks. The Mavericks beat the Razorsharks on the opening night of the season, 108-88.
